Gunnar is a super sweet, gentle, loving dog. He is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. He can't seem to get close enough to "his people", so he could stand to work on being more independent. Gunnar is rather shy and gets nervous around sudden, loud noises. He was also nervous on his first few car rides, but has gotten more relaxed after a few trips in the car. He doesn't know any commands at this time, other than "sit", but is treat-motivated and eagar to please. Gunnar really seems to like other dogs, but we aren't sure how he would do with cats. He has been exposed to them, and seems to fixate on them, but hasn't shown any aggression to them at this time. Gunnar is house-trained and is working on his crate-training. He needs to be encouraged with treats to "kennel up", but once he is crated, he is generally calm and quiet.

Gunnar is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers.
