I have been adopted!

Teddy came to us from a reservation where he had been living as a country dog who was trained to hunt. While Teddy may be getting up there in years, he still has quite a bit of energy left in him and he loves to run around outside and catch the scents in the air. Another thing Teddy loves to do is to lean into anyone he can find. Teddy kept his kennel clean and is crate-trained, although he needs to work on going into one more willingly. Teddy gets along well with other dogs and seems to ignore the cats he has met so far.

Teddy is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers. 

Update from Teddy's handlers: Teddy is a German shorthaired pointer who has been aptly named. He is very sweet with a wonderful tempermant. He loves to be petted and cuddled like a big ole' teddy bear. 

Teddy is starting to show his maturity with a little gray in his muzzle, but he still lvoes to go out to the yard to run and play--either by himself or with his "sister" Sugar. He is still trying to figure out what playing fetch is all about, but he is quite a sight to watch as he bounds and prances around with a tennis ball in his mouth.

Teddy is getting used to having his own space in his crate, but this gentle soul seems most content when he is leaning against or cuddling up with his people. Come on and give this sweet, good-looking boy his forever home!
