Dave is 93-pounds of sweetness, with a huge head and wrinkly face. He was surrendered to a shelter by his owners because he kept running around loose in the neighborhood and he had a tendency to knock over their young child. Dave loves people and they all seem to love him back. He is pretty willful, so with that and his large size, he will need someone who is a strong leader. Dave loves other dogs and seemed to be okay with a cat he met. He was not neutered when we got him, so he was still doing some marking inside, but hopefully that will change after "the appointment". Dave will go in a crate, but he prefers to not be in one. He will continue to work on his crate-training. Dave does not bark, but will "moo" like a cow when he is joining in with another dog who is barking. He may also "moo" a bit when he is left alone. Dave likes to chase balls in the yard, but doesn't really seem to like (or know) how to play fetch. Dave is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers.
