Learn more about the Labrador Retriever.
When we first met Scout, she was cowering in the corner of her kennel at the shelter because she was so scared. Once Scout was in a home environment, she was a different dog. She could still work on getting better socialized, but she has come a long way in a very short time. Scout is a six-month old pup who is very friendly and energetic. She loves the attention she gets from people and really enjoys being around other dogs. Scout can also easily entertain herself with some toys or a Nylabone. She is generally very well-behaved in the house, is crate-trained and mostly house-trained.
Scout is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so she is being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, she will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on basic commands with her handlers.
