Skip is a very nice, young dog who was rescued from the pound. When we first got him, he had little to no training, but would sit every once in a while for a treat. When Skip is outside, he loves to sniff the ground and check out his surroundings. When he's indoors, he is much more of a people-dog. Skip does well in the house, usually wanting to be where the people are, and does a nice job of not having or getting into things he shouldn't. Skip hasn't shown much of an interest in playing with toys or tennis balls, but that is probably something that will come with time. Skip seems to like other dogs, but sometimes jumps on their shoulders. If another dog is reacting to him, he will usually just retreat. Skip is housetrained and crate-trained, although he needs some encouragement to get into his crate.
Skip is now participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers.
