Clancy is a big, goofy dog who doesn't seem to have a care in the world. He is very relaxed and easy-going, and adapts well to new situations. Clancy has had very little training, but he is smart and will be a quick learner. When we pulled Clancy from the pound, he was extremely thin, so we are working to put some meat on his bones. Clancy currently weighs only 63 pounds, but is still very strong. He likes to get his paws on the counter or his head in the fridge when he knows there is food in the vicinity, but can be re-directed. We don't know if he would do well with small children. He doesn't always understand his body in relation to his environment, and often doesn't let other objects get in his way. Clancy gets along well with the other dogs he has met. We are not quite sure how he would do with cats. Clancy is a very quiet dog. He has whines a little, but has yet to bark at anything. Clancy loves to play with toys, and likes to have a variety to gather up.
Clancy is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will work on his commands and manners with his handlers.
