Learn more about the Labrador Retriever.
Olive and her littermate, Pickles, had lived in the same home for the first four years of their lives. After their family split up, the two dogs needed rescue due to housing issues. We had room in our prison, foster-dog program and they are now being fostered at the Rush City Correctional Facility in MN. Olive is a true sweetheart and very curious about the word around her. She enjoys her days walking around and sniffing all the wonderful smells she can find and then looking up at her person, with tail wagging, as if to say, "Look what I found!" After her outdoor explorations Olive enjoys to cuddle and lounge, and then a good nap is in order. Olive has very good house manners, is crate trained and is well adjusted to being left alone. Her handlers report that Olive is, "all love"! Olive can be very shy in new situations, so she needs a home with loving patience. Both dogs came to us extremely overweight, but they are now getting daily exercise and proper nutrition, and they have both lost over 10 pounds. Their adoptive homes will need to continue to work on having them shed a few more pounds! Olive and Pickles are not a bonded pair so they can be adopted into separate homes. Olive is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, where she is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility in MN. While there, she will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on her commands with her handlers. If you would like to meet this special girl, and possibly give her the forever home she deserves, please contact us.
