I have been adopted!

Rudy came to us from a hunting club because he had no interest in birds. They couldn't find a home to place him in so they sought rescue for him. Rudy is a great dog with lots of energy. He loves people and other dogs, but seems to be a little leery of cats. If Rudy had a dog-sibling, it would be best to have one that appreciates his energy level and play style. Rudy is house-trained and crate-trained and walks well on a leash with a gentle leader.

Rudy is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, he will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers.

From Rudy's handlers: A perfect day for Rudy includes time to exercise, playing ball and spending quiet time alone with his people. He gets along well with other dogs and plays well with them. Rudy prefers not to be left out of anything. He does love attention, but will calm down after a few minutes of being left alone. He can show his rebellious side at times, but it is all in fun. Rudy is energetic and loves people. He is young yet and needs some direction, but is learning fast and catching on to all the basics quickly. He walks welll on a leash. If your family loves the outdoors, as well as enjoys quiet time, Rudy is the perfect dog for you.
