Labrador Retriever / Mixed : : Female (spayed)
Learn more about the Labrador Retriever.
Amber was living outside on a reservation, so we took her into our program and promised her we would find her a home where she would be a member of the family. We think she may have lived in a house before her outdoor living arrangement because she seemed to be comfortable with being in her foster home and never had an accident in the house. Amber has very unique coloring and fur texture, and we are not sure what she is mixed with. She has a black band of fur around her neck and gold coloring on her back. Amber is a very sweet, friendly girl who can be a little on the skittish side in new situations, with loud noises and sudden movements. She likes everyone she meets and gets along well with other dogs and cats. Amber is crate-trained and house-trained, and loves to go on car rides. Amber is still learning how to have fun with toys and how to just lay around and relax. She loves to run around outside and likes a good game of fetch.
Amber is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, so she is being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, she will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on her commands with her handlers.
